MS Publisher may have tried to use CSS (much like Dreamweaver does by default) I know this screws me up when I build an article and then attempt to paste it into JU. I've actually disabled the CSS tags in Dreamweaver now.
Moral of the story: Don't use WYSIWYG Editors unless you know how to do it all by hand anyway. That way if you get a glitch, you can find it and fix it fairly easily
Oh, and never use MS Publisher

I'm having problems with Suse with my router. For some odd reason, it doesn't want to connect to the net or even to my network. Grrrr! Unless this network card is too old. I'm using a old IBM machine that has a PII 330mhz processor for the moment. Hopefully soon I'll be able to get this thing upgraded. I need like $130 for a processor for my new Motherboard, then I can put my old board and parts in the server. Hmmm

I've had a similar problem with SuSE- it works great for everything but the networking. Never was able to get it to recognize my WiFi & eventually gave up on it.
On a positive note: SuSE was the only distro I've found that came with WINE working immediately right after install. Was able to have Photoshop running under Linux in under 10 minutes. Still haven't gotten it to work under my beloved Fedora Core 3.
(BTW: Big THANKS! to whoever fixed the HTML problem, Jafo, Meowy, whomever...)

Well, I'm planning on getting the hardware changed here soon. (Hopefully) Then we'll see if it has better luck with the network.

Yay Weaksid!
Before you buy anything you should check the SuSE HCL (if there is one) to see if the moel is there.

It will be a Linksys NIC and I know it works because my main computer is using it now
My new motherboard that will be going in my main computer has a built on GigaLAN port. So, I'll be using that instead of the card.
If Suse doesn't work with the Linksys NIC, then there is something wrong.

If SuSE has tech support, go for it.

Or, you could try a different OS.
Fedora has an option in setup to use as a server, and is built from Red Hat.

Well, if you are interested in a new operating system with no fuss at all, may I recommend Knoppix? www.knoppix.org.
Just download the ISO image, burn to cd, boot from the cd and enjoy a Debian/KDE configuration. Then, remove the cd when you are finished and go right back to windows.

BUT, if you already have MS Office, why not just use it?
I just used Word as an example.

Better yet check out Ubuntu (with Gnome)http://www.ubuntulinux.org/ and Kubuntu (with KDE) http://www.kubuntu.org/ This is a very nice, user friendly linux Distro. They'll even send you a free copy, or many multiples for you to share amongst your friends.
