One of the most annoying programs is still around.

I was very excited to find a Gateway 2000 copy of MS BOB on the internet. The website is not in English and the unzipper isnt either, but the setup program and the program itself are in English. Here's a screenshot of the bob family room on my (xp) machine:

Yeah BOB was cool.

It's way to early for me to look (just got up, waiting on the COFFEE!), but I think someone (Frogboy?) did a DesktopX version a long while back.

Hey they also have Dolly the Sheep - my version is Japanese I think.

My daughter likes watching Dolly.

I didn't know it had different versions/styles.

Free or paid version? I had used free a while back - had mentioned it here. Day after I mentioned it, I installed it again to give it a go (variety) - Microsoft AntiSpyware and Spybot S&D both about had a conniption fit. Spyware/Adware not there previously had appeared. MS AntiSpyware yelling at me that some BHO is trying to take total control of IE. Spybot was tapping my shoulder every .1 secs letting me know the registry being changed.

However, I still like the concept and look of it, still think it would rock on highspeed (24 browser wall on dial-up takes forever and a day).

Free, If I had the extra $, I would buy it then. I would like to get rid of those ads. I'm also on 3mb so the wall thing is fine. Hmm, I haven't seen my ad-aware and stuff say anything about it. I should run them again.

Yeah my Ad-Aware didn't say anything either. I had everything locked via SpyBot with TeaTimer on. It and MS AS both popped up as soon as I clicked install and I didn't get a chance to say no either. SpyBot cleaned out a bunch of MySearch or SearchMyWay stuff. I'm not having as much faith in Ad-Aware, their files get smaller and smaller on updates. I keep waiting for them to announce they have now rid the world of evil doers.

I think it's time somebody updated BOB (the desktopx).
